In 1997 my husband, Terry, built and experimental airplane and on a nice calm evening, we enjoy going up and buzzing around the county. I especially like to go above the clouds. It is so beautiful and bright and the clouds look so soft. To capture what I saw was interesting and challenging and I learned some interesting concepts with this painting. For example, I first tried to get the sun to look bright by making it a brighter yellow, which didn't work. I actually had to make the center white to look the brightest. This oil painting also reminds me to look up when life seems dark and cloudy because the sun is still shining.
