Poppies Row II-Flower Oil Painting

This new view of poppies (Julia had painted them before in watercolor) is done with lively strokes of paint applied with a palette knife.  The vibrant red flowers seem to be blowing in the wind.  Contrasted against the paler greens of the stems and unopened blossoms, the flowers come to life with a third dimension achieved with the thickly painted bright reds and red-oranges.
