This oil painting was created after Julia went out to take pictures of the evening sky and came upon this scene. The ordinary field of bales is beautiful with long, colorful shadows in hues of lavender, pink, and red. It brings to mind a Lancaster County version of Monet's well-loved haystacks paintings.
